Work in progress

Oh man, I've been painting my butt off the past few weeks. Unfortunately, I can't post my work yet because the eight projects I'm working on will be given as gifts at my wedding and I don't want to ruin the surprise for the recipients (it's not like they're reading this anyway, but I want to play it safe). I will have the photos up soon...

What I did the weekend before last

I spent a mere 17 hours hiking up Mt. Whitney, leaving her in a quivering pile of majestic rocks and altitude.  Why did I do it?  Because I'm a beast of a man- the kind who makes the Eiffel Tower out of steel and braun.  That's the kind of man I am.

Some other recent work

This one is called, "Attack of the Caitlin". Watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 18" x 24"

This is called "Ninja Thoughts" and pretty much shows how ninjas can compartmentalize their daydreaming process. Watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 12" x 9".
This is a new style I've been experimenting with that involves 3-D placement of elements in a frame. This one shows a faun gazing at some mandala floaters. Watercolor and gouache on cut out paper, 10" x 10".

My latest work

These are some of my latest paintings.  I have recently introduced wizards into the land.  My inspiration is not the wizards in Harry Potter; I was actually inspired by the mystical wizard culture of the 70s, with the crystal and lead statuettes that currently collect dust on shelves.
